The XILINX-I/O board operates as a daughterboard with the XP862 board. The XILINX-I/O board contains dual-port memory and Spartan-2 FPGAs to allow creation of custom interfaces. One example of its use was to implement a Manchester encoder/decoder for an non-standard 10MHz pre-ethernet network, the dual port memory allows data to be streamed to and from a TCP/IP connection using embedded Linux.
